Poise Makeup: What inspired you to begin working in the beauty industry?
But I always wanted to be in a business where I could help women and empower them. So makeup was my first choice and inspiration :).
Being a movie fan I always loved to see behind-the-scenes videos and how things are done. It's amazing how makeup can make a girl feel, but I think it's important to know how much makeup to apply and know the basic rules of application. I love to highlight the natural beauty of women."

Poise Makeup: What is your current role/position in the industry?
Karina: "PRO HD Makeup Artist and Editorial Coordinator of NYLON Español."
Poise Makeup: What is your favorite Poise Makeup Professional product and why? How do you like to use it?
Karina: "My favorite is definitely the HD Creme Foundation. You can use it on different types of skin and color.
I recently did a photoshoot where the model was in a bathtub and she was in contact with water and it worked perfectly. It gives skin a great texture that the photographer loves and it feels lightweight. It also works great with cream highlighters.
HD Creme Foundation works perfectly to do makeup for social events as well as bridal makeup because it's long lasting. I'll tell you how I use it.
I always like to prepare the skin before applying HD Creme Foundation. I recommend you to apply it with synthetic brushes and blending out with a beauty blender with little taps. To finish the look I always use a good translucent powder.
It works amazing for editorial makeup. I like to mix it with a good primer. You want to create a second skin, so blend it out until you reach that skin-like finish. This looks great on camera. If you want to get this wet look I also recommend you to highlight points on the face. You can use a transparent gloss on the cheeks, nose, chin and lips. You will love it!"

Poise Makeup: What is a piece of advice for someone who is interested in the industry?
Karina: "I think it's important to study all the time. Styles and trends change so quickly, so keep updated.
Always put your heart into your work. It may be art, but it is also meant to make other women feel good about themselves.
There are hundreds of great artists out there, but if you are easygoing and professional they will always choose you.
Never give up. Turn your bad experiences into something positive. Don't let them bring you down. Get up and try again.
It's important to invest in good products because cameras keep getting better resolution all the time."
