We traveled to San Francisco and it was a blast! We got to spend a full day with the cosmetology and esthetics students over at Skyline College in San Bruno, California. The morning class was with lovely esthetics students. We facilitated a makeup application demo focusing on what the students particularly had difficulties with. Color theory and eye shapes were the main topics of discussion. We demonstrated foundation matching on a few students and went over specifics on how to achieve the colors we chose. We also went step by step on how to find or create an eye crease on different eye shapes.

For the larger evening class with the cosmetology students, we did a step-by-step workshop. The class paired up and prepared their makeup set ups. Director, Vanessa Cervantes, went through their brand new makeup kits with the students and created a makeup look using the kits' contents. 

An important part of the makeup industry is time and efficiency! To help students with this factor, we broke down the workshop by sections and timed them. Vanessa started with the skin and included color correction using our #202 Pro Foundation Brush. Her key steps were product amount, brush movement, and color correcting along the way. She says "the face is not all one color, so don't use just one color". Now the students had the brushes in hand and were given 15 minutes each to complete this portion. Vanessa and Sales/Marketing Coordinator, Michelle Bradley, went around the class to assist as student practice makeup application. 

The workshop allowed the students to understand how they are the artist behind the color and product knowledge of creme formulation.

The students' application was fantastic and we throughly enjoyed our time at Skyline! We can't wait to go back for more workshops with them!
